It essentially limits the area of cut down mountain sites of a wood. In the State Committee on a forestry do not hide, that occurrence of the given document is dictated by consequences of a July high water in the western areas of the country when the non-authorized cutting down of woods referred to as one of the reasons of flooding.
At the same time ecologists believe, that it is not enough accepted measures and cutting down of woods in Carpathian mountains in general should be forbidden. The text of the decision of №929 "Rules of cutting down of the main using accepted by the government in mountain woods of Carpathian mountains" which will come into force since January, 1, 2009, says, that continuous cutting down and the area of cut down sites in Carpathian mountains will be essentially limited, and positions of the general rules of cutting down of the main using in woods of Ukraine, allowing wide system cutting down, will not be distributed to woods in the Zakarpatye, Ivano-Frankovsk, Lvov and Chernovtsy areas.
In particular, if by rules working in Ukraine, cutting down up to 40-50 % of trees on 1 га woods for карпатских woods this parameter will make no more than 30 % is resolved. According to the new document, in case of realization of continuous cutting down the width лесосеки should not exceed 50 m. Thus final cutting down can be carried out only at presence of viable young growth which quantity on 1 га should make in oak woods – not less than 10 thousand pieces, beechen – by 15 thousand, fur-tree – 12 thousand. In beechen and можжевеловых woods the young growth should reach height of 1,5 m. It is remarkable, that rules of cutting down of the main using for woods of Ukraine suppose width of a glade up to 250 m, and height of young growth in beechen and можжевеловых woods should make not less than 0,5 m.
